Campgrounds in the Pike San Isabel National Forest

These are in ponderosa pine forest areas, at elevations of 8-9,000 feet. They have pit toilets, no showers, and no electricity.

  • Blue Mountain Campground is south of Lake George on Road 61.
  • Round Mtn. Campground is just west of M Lazy C ranch off US 24.
  • The South Meadows, Colorado, Painted Rock and Thunder Ridge Campgrounds are located approximately five to eight miles north of Woodland Park off Highway 67.
  • Meadow Ridge Campground is 5 miles east of Woodland Park above Rampart Reservoir.

Round Mtn. Campground

Round Mountain offers about 15 reservable campsites. Amenities include picnic tables, vault toilets, campfire rings and a parking area. 

  • Please bring garbage bags; this is a "pack in-pack out" facility
  • No drinking water available; visitors should bring an ample supply
  • Be bear aware; keep all food out of site in approved containers or locked inside your vehicle and remove all food from area after eating
  • This is a high elevation facility, please use caution when traveling from lower elevations
  • No RV hookups are available
  • Limit two vehicles per site

M Lazy C Ranch

The primitive camping area has lots of space under the trees, a porta pottie and several stalls for your solar shower.  Bring  your own solar shower.

Reservations

Laramie Daze Camping

The Yellow Pine and Vedauwoo campgrounds in the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest are close to the meets.  They have vault toilets and water, but are not reservable, first come.  The Tie Siding campground is closed this summer.

The very nice Laramie Community Recreation Center has showers, indoor and outdoor pools, whirlpool, lazy river, and gym.  A daily pass is $8.  There's a reduced price for shower only, bring your towel.
